Thoughts... by the way

An aside. The one thing that makes sense of the play.

I Hate The University of Tennessee.

It's deep, this hatred. Back to my childhood. Everyone I knew growing up had this disgusting love for the University over in the neighboring state. And they were really good. And Auburn was pretty bad at the time. Not really bad mind you but UT was better. And this was painfully disgusting. I remember one time in elementary school I had almost given up, was tired of swimming up stream, was hoping to have fun like everyone else, I was about to give in and buy a puke orange and black Starter Jacket. I talked to my mother about it, this was a big deal for a young boy dealing with the persecutions of a college identity. She kneeled down with a grin.
"Son, you don't really want to be like them, do you?"
"No Mom, I don't."
From that point on my furrowed brow was set to the Volunteers, never to be challenged again. Any time they would try and woo my favor by helping out some sick kid in his last wish they would save my conscience by having an obnoxious quarterback or an obnoxious stadium or a filthy city or a country bumpkin quarterback that the entire state of Tennessee would have taken a collective bullet for were they asked.
I thought that last years double victories over the vols would quench my everlasting hatred for them. However, last night I was proved wrong. Yes, it helps Auburn's situation in the SEC West when LSU loses an SEC game. That, however was no consolation, I just wanted to see the Vols go down again.
Not for Katrina's sake, or Rita's sake, or for the collective woes of the state of Louisiana.
I just hate Tennessee that much.

I type this while looking at my Big Orange mousepad. You don't have to like us, but at times you must have respect. Of course, at times we ourselves have to laugh at the stupidity of the program. For example, the fact that Randy Sanders is still the offensive coordinator despite the lack of an offense throughout his tenure is such a joke I must stifle the giggles and subsequent sobs. It's only natural to hate some teams it's true. I hate Florida, Michigan, and Southern California. Of course, if you stretch to include MLB, I really hate the Yankees, but I recently found scripture to back me in this. It is an abomination to justify the wicked.(Proverbs 17:15)

Come to Don Fulton's place this weekend and watch the GA/TN game with me, and help me pull against TN! :) Not that I have a ton of hope, but hey there's always that little chance. I hate the FL gators. I think you always hate the team that beats you most, which is why south carolina hates everybody.

I'm actually living in Atlanta right now, go figure. This weekend, Auburn's off week, my sister-in-law, and brother are opening their store in Nashville so I'm going up for the opening. Case in point, I hate UGA but have respect for UGA, can pull for UGA in a crunch. I just plain hate UT.
